Brian M. O’Keefe

Summary:

A proven software architect and manager of both complex software efforts as well as personnel, but my specialty and passion is "big data" (since before it was coined "big data") and analytical software solutions. I am currently working in Research & Development building new solutions and thinking "outside the box" to address difficult problems. This involves everything from data intensive medical devices, new human computer interfaces (collecting data in Cassandra to boot) through social network metrics and high level data fusion. I've also conducted training classes and given presentations on on everything from out of the box Data Warehousing software, company specific software implementations (e.g., training worldwide financial teams on a company-specific financial Data Warehouse implementation), to the use of Bayesian Belief Networks (including related software, such as writing implementations of BBN engines using Junction Trees from scratch).

Needless to say, my days are interesting!

That being said, I have also managed numerous software programs from concept to implementation for both commercial and government efforts. My experience includes medical device management, embedded software, web-based training, secure data transfer and management, risk assessment, geospatial intelligence, decision support, business intelligence, and route/mission planning. Particular interest and experience in cutting-edge research and application of advanced architectures and techniques including proving their efficacy to the problem needing to be solved. Proven success at grant and proposal writing. My desire is to continue expanding management experience and capabilities to complement technical skills help companies and individuals effectively use technology.
